investigations | thanksgiving tablescape

Last week we talked about plate settings for the holidays, so today we're going to take a look at perfecting your table settings such as flowers, candles, and more!

First things first, use natural and oddly shaped pieces in your table decorations; it will create a unique and organic shape that is visually pleasing. Using branches, gourds, succulents, and other natural objects are great and can often be really inexpensive.

Use candles! Eating by candle light {even if there is other lighting as well} is festive and fun. Most importantly it creates a welcoming and friendly atmosphere - your friends and family will feel instantly more festive and will love the idea of a meal by candle light!

To make your table settings {and plate settings} really stand out you will want to use a blank slate - be it a neutral table cloth, no table cloth, or modest place mats. Keeping the surface of the table simple will allow the rest of the decor to take precedent {and will be way easier to clean up!}.
